Day 16 for me #Solo2Darwin May 26th 2019. Matt the brillaint engineer from #ARC has found the problem. A blown cylinder head! So he is busy putting a new one on and checking all the other heads. You can see from the photo the damage and is why I heard a bang and felt a shudder and then loss of power. Fortunately I have practised #enginefailure many times so guided #GAXAN back to the airfield and wonderful #GAXAN bounced safely to a stop with my heart pounding of course. #adventurepilot #femalepilot #pilot #dehavilland #ARC #blueskies #inspiration #amyjohnsonartstrust
